Make a Donation
ChLA thrives on the generosity of its members. Over the years, many of you have given your time and expertise to our organization, volunteering on committees and contributing to pressing conversations in our field. This work contributes to ChLA’s mission to encourage high standards of criticism, scholarship, research, and teaching in children’s literature.
Our organizational work also requires funds – for the cost of more mundane operations (like website maintenance) to the exciting (like grants for student and faculty research).
Past ChLA Giving Tuesday campaigns have raised thousands of dollars in donations, which have supported the regular operations of our organization and new initiatives we have undertaken to make ChLA more accessible, inclusive, and sustaining for the future. These donations have supported the work of our members, funding efforts such as research grants for work on under-represented authors and illustrators, graduate student travel funds to make gathering at our annual conference possible for more of our community members, and programming to build members’ knowledge and skills in equity, diversity, and inclusion practices.
As we plan ChLA’s 2024 budget we are working to align our spending with our core values, continuing efforts to support ChLA’s inclusivity and diversity, maintain practices of integrity in our scholarship and colleagueship, develop innovative approaches for children’s literary studies, celebrate the valuable work of children’s literature and children’s literature scholarship, and do this work in collaborative communication with one another.
Thank you to all our members who have given to ChLA in past years, in whatever way you have contributed to our organization.
We invite contributions to our ongoing efforts to shape the future of children’s literary studies. Please consider making a donation this Giving Tuesday – either again or for the first time – as we work together to grow ChLA’s future.
